- When I am hired as your personal adjuster the inherent conflict of interest that exists when one person or entity attempts to represent two sides of a financial transaction is ended. Public Adjusters are the only type of claims adjuster that can legally represent the rights of only the insured during an insurance claim process. The company adjuster or so called "independent adjusters" work only for the insurance companies and are paid for by the insurance companies. Their job is to try and pay as little as possible so the insurance company makes more money.
- I evaluate your insurance policy to determine what coverage that may be applicable to your insurance claim; often I can determine that you have more coverage than the apparent policy limit.
- I research, detail and substantiate every aspect of your claim, including building damage, possible "hidden damage", loss of contents and extra living expense claims. I hire the most qualified experts to perform evaluations including contractors, contents inventory experts, cause and origin experts and any other expert who can assist me in preparing your claim. I do not charge you for these services - they are non-reimbursable expenses.
- I determine the appropriate values for settling all covered damages.
- Utilizing all of these services I then negotiate the best possible settlement with the insurance company on your behalf.
- At all times I keep you, the insured, informed of the progress made and make no decisions as to a possible settlement without your input, cooperation and agreement.
